Supported Housing for Older People

Supported Housing for Older People supports people with dementia and older people with physical disabilities and frailties to live in their own flats with a tenancy rather than move into residential care.

We have three sites within this service; Courteney's Lodge, Flowers House and Kilkenny House.

Courteney's Lodge and
Flowers House
We provide and deliver personal care in a person-centred way to people living with dementia, according to their individual assessed needs. We encourage social inclusion, personal choice and independence, and work with family and friends to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the service users. This enables people with dementia to live in their own flats and have a tenancy rather than move into residential care.
Kilkenny House
Supported housing with care for older people with physical disabilities and frailties. The on-site care team provides personal care and practical support to people who live in the flats within the building. The purpose of the service is to provide high quality care which enables people to stay living at home rather than moving into residential care.
Roles within Supported Housing for Older People
There are a number of different roles within this service. We employ carers as well as support staff who arrange activities and support tenants in areas such as shopping and finance. For more experienced care staff, we have management posts, team leaders, who oversee the day to day running of the schemes and provide line management to a group of staff.

Training opportunities
We know how important career development is and we offer an excellent range of training opportunities and apprenticeships.
All carers receive training as required by CQC (Care Quality Commission). Those new to a caring role will need to complete the Care Certificate.
​
For those in management roles there's a suite of management courses to support you as well as the opportunity to undertake nationally recognised management qualifications.
